Sniper Babes Banned
From Columbus Gun Show.
Would you believe that it's 2009 and discrimination against women continues at gun shows? The Sniper Babes briefly
attended a gun show in February, 2009 promoted by C&E Gun shows. The show promoter, Robert Steven Elliot, threw the
ladies out of the show and threatened to have them arrested for trespassing. Mind you that the ladies were wearing Sniper
Babes logo t-shirts and blue jeans at the time. They were not selling any items or displaying anything for sale. They were
simply talking to vendors and show participants about the work they do in getting more women and kids into the shooting
sports. They also were discussing the Sniper Babes philosophy of teaching guns safety to shooters and non-shooters alike.
Mr Elliot said he had reviewed the Sniper
babes website at www.sniperbabes.com . He indicated that he had based his decision to have the ladies removed on the content contained on the website.
That meant he knew the ladies were active shooters, NRA members and that they fully support the 2nd amendment and he
didn't care.
This is a direct quote from his website.
"C&E and Showmasters Gun Shows is
dedicated to producing the most professional,
safest
and ethical gun shows in the country. We strive to provide our patrons with the
best available selection of firearms, ammo, knives and related merchandise,
and our
dealers with the largest
crowds of qualified buyers anywhere, while always doing all
we can do to protect the constitution of the United States of America. A note about the
Second Amendment, the Second Amendment, while being #2 on the list of several
very
important Amendments, is
actually the most important of them all. It is the only amendment
that guarantees
all the other rights.
"Without
the 2nd Amendment, we would be a country of unarmed subjects." "
While Mr. Elliot vehemently supports the second amendment he seems to have forgotten the rest of the amendments.
Clearly the Sniper Babes do not have a first amendment right to sell products or attend his shows. What is it exactly that
he objects to? Other gun show promoters gladly welcome the Sniper Babes to their shows. The Sniper Babes also attend fund
raisers for the USO and various shooting events.
It's a sad day in America when a gun show promoter won't support
the Sniper Babes, a group dedicated to growing the very industry he services. Perhaps the vendors and show participants should
ask who will be banned from C&E shows next? Do they really want to work with someone who won't support women
in the shooting sports? He certainly casts a poor light the shooting sports for women by his actions. Perhaps a boycott of
his shows would help????
We hope
that Mr. Elliot will change his stance and ask for your help. Please contact Mr Elliot and let him know how you feel about
his actions. The contact information for Mr. Elliot is listed below. Thanks for taking the time to help!
